Our Mission
Believing that all children are precious
to God:
"Asian Aid is called to empower believers in Jesus
to address the causes of physical and spiritual poverty amongst disadvantaged
communities."
In India, Nepal and Bangladesh during 2004 we will assist:
- 25 nurses and university students from very poor families
- 60 families in our leper colony
- 60 women with horrific, 3rd degree prolapses
- 68 deaf children in our school for the hearing and speech
impaired
- 90 blind or partially blind children in 2 blind schools
- 160 part or total orphans in 3 orphanages
- 550 poor children in community schools
- 1,600 Hungry Money recipients
- 6,000 poor children across approximately 70 Adventist
schools and institutions.
In total we will assist more than 6,500 children or young
people through school sponsorship in a Christian setting. We will also
operate a health clinic, educate women about the cause of prolapse, build
classrooms, repair existing buildings, clothe children, and work hard
to keep our sponsors and donors informed. Although not tax-deductible,
and not part of Asian Aid's overseas aid program, we will also support
more than 10 lay ministers.
Central to our mission is building the infrastructure of
the local church, empowering it to meet the needs of its own communities.
Asian Aid is an accredited, supporting ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist
Church and is dedicated to sharing God's love.
